Hardiness: Zone 4.
Size: Tree that can get as large at 70ft.
Planting: Full sun, fertile soils.
Fruit: Flattened brown seedpods, up to 6" long.
Pollination: Self pollinating.
Use: Pods are toxic when eaten fresh, but can be roasted and ground into a "coffee-like" beverage.
Current Size: 5 gal pot - approx. 4ft tall.
A native variety considered "at risk" in Ontario, although not native to Northern Ontario. A very large tree not suggested for urban planting.
This was brought in by special request and very few are available, they are also not considered hardy, They will not carry the standard guarantee.
