FAQs

fruit trees in ontario

Can you really grow Apples in Northern Ontario?

Yes! But, you certainly can't grow any Granny Smith, Gala's or even MacIntosh apples. However, there are lots of hardy varieties that have been selectively breed in Western Canada to survive the harsh winter climates here.
In fact you can also grow pears, cherries, plums, grapes and many other amazingly healthy and tasty fruits and berries.

Is it hard to grow fruit trees?

Some of the larger trees can be a bit difficult but we have lots of great resources available here to help you be successful. We are always an email away with any questions you may have.
Berries bushes and many of the smaller varieties are very forgiving and much easier to grow for the novice gardeners who just want to plant something and forget about it.

When are you open?

We are open in the Spring usually starting around May 1st, until our stock runs out for the season. This is just a hobby and passion we share with everyone while also having full times jobs and other commitments. We aren't open every day and for 2023 we are open Tuesdays 12-4 and Saturdays 10-4.

Do you ship orders?

We provide local services only, we don't offer shipping of orders and you must be able to arrange pick up at our site.

Do you offer any other services?

We are starting to offer some spring pruning services. We will also be offering planting services on a case by case basis. Please reach out via email to inquire.
