Elderberry Bush - American Elder

Hardiness: Zone 2.

Size: Bush 10 ft.

Planting: Okay in harsh, depleted or ever moist sites, tolerates part shade well. 

Fruit: Purple-Black berries in clusters. 

Pollination: Self pollinating, no companion needed. 

Use: Excellent for pies, jellies, preserves and processing.  

Ripening: Early September. 

Pot: 2 gal.

A native elderberry variety, with small fruits and lower yields than cultivated varieties. Also known as Canadian Elderberry or Common Elderberry.
