Pear Tree - Krazulya

Flavor & Uses: Krazulya, also called 'Russian Beauty', is an exceptionally sweet and crisp pear with buttery, fine-grained flesh. It has a rich aroma and is among the sweetest hardy pears, making it a favorite for fresh eating. When stored, its sweetness intensifies, and it can be used in desserts and canning.

Size & Color: Small to medium-sized (6–8 cm in diameter). The fruit is bright yellow-green with a light pink blush, and the skin is thin and smooth.

Growth & Hardiness: Krazulya is ultra-hardy, surviving in Zone 2–3. It is a compact grower, making it ideal for smaller orchards and backyard growers. It is a very early producer, often fruiting within 3–4 years of planting.

Harvest Time: Late August. Krazulya pears do not store well, so they should be eaten fresh or used in preserves within 2–3 weeks of harvest.

Disease Resistance: Krazulya has high resistance to fire blight, making it one of the safest hardy pears to grow in areas prone to the disease. It is also resistant to pear scab and mildew.

Breeding & Origin: Krazulya originates from Russia, where it was bred for severe cold resistance and high sugar content. It was introduced to North America due to its adaptability to harsh climates.

Pollination: Requires a pollination partner.

Pot: 5 gal - 5-6ft tall
