Planting: Tolerant plant, tolerate part shade and poor sandy soils. 

Fruit: Black, 1.5-2 cm in size. 

Pollination: Requires alternate variety, amazing pollinizer, due to heavy blooms.

Use: Good for canning and jams or preserves. 

Ripening: Mid August

Although called a "sand cherry" is actually in the the Plum family and an amazing pollinizer. Very tart astringent berries. Very ornamental with greenish foliage and showy spring blooms.
